Frankenstein
Mary Shelley's Frankenstein is one of the most distinguished novels of the time. This heart compelling novel shows the innocence of a disowned man or monster. It all depends on what side the reader chooses. The main character Victor Frankenstein goes against the law of science and God himself and creates life taking body parts and making his monster. The monster is not what Victor planned on having because he turned out hideous. The monster even said, " Was I, then , a monster, a blot upon the earth , from which all men fled and whom all men disowned?"(117) Born from loneliness , Dr. Frankenstein's scientific curiosity brought forth the death innocence. Victor Frankenstein had very few friends at a young age and when his mom died this brought loneliness so, Victor started to explore the depths of life by trying to create a human being. Victor became inspired by the works of Paracelsus , Agrippa, and Albetus Magnus. After working two years on the monster he finally comes to an end and finishes up but, when he gets done Victor abandons the monster because it is ugly and frightening. Victor's experiment back fires and now runs loose through the country after Victor rejects the monster for the second time. Victor wanted a friend but, all he got was a ugly monster. Dr. Frankenstein's project could have been a complete success because the monster came to Victor's bed and tried to talk but, Dr. Frankenstein stormed out because the monster looked so ghastly and horrible. Victor turned to science as a salvation for loneliness.
Since Dr. Frankenstein abandons the monster, it now brings forth the death of the innocence. After Victor rejected the monster, the creation went on the rampage. The monster started out by going after Frankenstein's family by murdering his brother William. One of the Frankenstein's closest friends Justine Moritz is being accused of killing their child William. Victor knows that it was not Justine Moritz that killed William but was the monster that he created. Victor's creation brings the death of two innocent people. William and Justine were two ordinary people that were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Their death came about from the effect of Frankenstein's experiment. The deaths of William and the family's close friend Justine hurt Frankenstein so emotionally that he cannot recover from his poor health and sanity.
Dr. Frankenstein has another chance to stop the death of innocence when the monster says that he will leave Dr. Frankenstein forever if he would create him a mate. Frankenstein begins making this mate even though he is strongly against it but, while thinking it over Frankenstein stops making this mate and through it in a lake after destroying the body. Victor's selfishness brings forth the death of the more innocent characters. Victor didn't want to have a race of these monster's. This makes the monster extremely angry and he swears that he would get back at Frankenstein and make him feel the same as he does and would get back at Victor on his wedding night.
The monster strikes again because when one night after Victor threw the body of Frankenstein's mate in the lake he is accused of killing a man. Victor wants to know who the man is so, when the natives show him he sees that it is his best friend Henry Clerval. The monster takes the life of another innocent person just because of Victor's scientific curiosity. Victor is really destroyed inside and becomes very lonely. His dad convinces Victor into marrying Elizabeth Lavenza. The get married but, Frankenstein remembers what the monster said about his wedding night. Frankenstein was nervous all night until the monster struck again and murdered his innocent wife Elizabeth. This also brought forth the death of his dad because after hearing about Elizabeth's death , he himself passed away. The monster destroyed Frankenstein's whole family except his brother Ernest.
Frankenstein's monster murdered many innocent people because of Victor. Victor dedicated the rest of his life trying to destroy his creation. He came up short in trying to kill the monster because Victor dies before the monster's death. The monster destroyed Frankenstein , his friends and family. The monster destroys Frankenstein's innocence by killing the people he truly loved and by killing him with loneliness. Victor's scientific curiosity caused the monster to murder innocent characters in this novel so Frankenstein would feel the same loneliness.
